Monday's Making it a Home...Flash Cards and puzzle pieces

So on Saturday I put the girls down for their naps and wrote up my plan for the blog for this fall. You can see the breakdown that I will try to do each week. In that post I shared how God was teaching me it is not about keeping house but making it a home. Well no later than an hour after I wrote that, Anna Beth got up and put me to the test. I had told her when she woke up we would play with her puzzle. Where did she plop down and spread the million pieces and 2 sets of flash cards? Of course right in the middle of our home...10 steps from the front door, 2 steps from the kitchen, 1 step from the living room, 2 steps from the stairs leading up to the bedrooms and 2 steps from the stairs leading down to the family room.

Oh how I cringed inside. What a mess, people will trip. Puzzle pieces will be lost forever. I think God might be teaching me more than just how to make my house a home, he is showing me an ugly side of myself, the side that prefers order and perfection over silliness with a 3 year old. I chose silliness and survived!! I think AB had fun too.
